William Wardle Tivey was born in Worthington, Leicestershire in 1853, the youngest child of Elizabeth Wardle and Thomas Tivey, (Tom was brother to our GGG Grandmother Jane Tivey). His wife who he bequeathed all his wordly goods to was Elizabeth Ann Allen. They ran a farm in nearby Osgathorpe. they had four children - Gertrude (Pepper) 1897-1983, Thomas 1898-1980, William 1900-1976 and May (Moore) 1903-1985. After William's death in 1906, Elizabeth remarried to William Henry Allard and had a further 2 children - Percy Henry and Elizabeth who both sadly died in infancy.
