TIVEY FAMILY TREE

This is the last Will & Testament of me Thomas Tivey of Osgathorpe in the County of Leicester, Inn Keeper & Farmer. I Bequeath all moneys which I may have at the time of my decease in the Ashby de la Zouch Savings Bank or in any other bank to my dear wife Elizabeth Tivey absolutely subject to the payment of my debts and funeral and testamentory expenses. And as to the residue of my estate and effects I give and bequeath the same unto my friend Richard Bray of Sheepshed in the County of Leicester, farmer and my son William Tivey now residing with me hereafter called my Trustees, Upon trust to permit my said wife so long as she shall think fit to carry on in her own benefit the trade or business in which I shall be engaged at my death and for that purpose to continue tenant of my premises which I shall occupy at my decease and to use as and employ all stock and trade utensils and other personal estate as shall then be used or employed therein without liable to account for any demolition in the same and after death of my said wife I give and bequeath my residuary personal estate or such as shall remain unto my said son William Tivey absolutely and I declare that my Trustees shall not in anyways be answerable or accountable for any loss that may happen or be occassional to my estate by reason to my said wife carrying on the said business or employing all or any part of my personal estate therein I appoint the said Richard Bray and my said son William Tivey Trustees and Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all other Wills in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty second day of December one thousand eight hundred and eighty two. Signed and acknowledged by the said Thomas Tivey the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the prescence of at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witness the same having been first read over to him and he appeared perfect to understand the same and made his mark thereto in our prescence. *William Donovan was an Irish Physician & Surgeon, residing in Silver Street, Whitwick.  Thomas was the son of Ann Edwards and John Tivey of Group 6.  This Will was made in 1882 and Thomas died in 1896, he was born 1811 in Leicestershire.
