Mary-Tivey-and-Aaron-Bonser-Ball-Marriage-Certificate
Mary Tivey of Group 8, the daughter of Isaac Tivey and Tryphena Taylor married Aaron Ball, Son of Markham Ball and Elizabeth Bonser at the Congregational Chapel, Castle Gate, Nottingham. Mary emigrated on the ship Victorian (Allan Line Steamship Co) from Liverpool Lancashire on 29 September 1910, along with her two daughters Winifred Lois and Irene Grace. She arrived in Montreal in October to join her husband Aaron who had left to look for work in March 1910. He got a job as a Clerk in Comox, Vancouver and sent for his family to join him some months later. The Town of Comox is situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island, approximately 115Km north of Nanaimo. Together with the City of Courtenay and the Village of Cumberland, Comox lies in an area known as The Comox Valley situated between the Beaufort Range and Comox Glacier in the west, and the Strait of Georgia in the East. Thanks to Glenda Wilson of Canada (granddaughter of Aaron & Mary) for the document information.
