Charles Ferdinand Witts was the son of Sarah Ann Tivey and Alfred Edward Witts. He was born 1879 in Bombala, New South Wales and married Elvie Eleanor (Claydon) St Clair in Sydney 1913. They had 5 children - Geoffrey Charles Witts (1916-1926) Audrey A Witts (1917-2006) Alan Leslie Witts (1920-2009) Theodore Henry Witts (1922-1998) and Doris Elvie Witts (1924-1926).
