 Alfred-Tivey-Born-Nottingham-Died-New-South-Wales
Alfred was born in Nottingham 1836 shortly before cicvil registration began, in 1848 he and his parents Samuel Tivey and Phoebe (Wild(e)) sailed to Australia to start a new life in the Colonies. They settled in New South Wales. In 1853 he and younger brother Joseph Tivey were amongst the signatures of The Bendigo Goldfields Petition  - in essence he and his brother were Gold Prospector's in the state of Victoria. His brother Joseph remained there, setting up a general store selling essentials to the squatters and propsectors and their families. Alfred returned home to Mole Station, Nimmitabel New South Wales, where he married Eliza Ann White in 1868 Cooma - 9 children followed - you can read more about these people in GROUP 3.
