Marriage of Tom-Tivey-and-Louisa-Elson
"Thomas" who was actual named Tom at birth, was from Group 2, the son of Sidney Tivey and Mary Cooper. he was born in 1852 Wilson, Leicestershire and brought up in his father's home town of Melbourne, Derbyshire. Accroding to his obituary, Tom was for a number of years a member of the firm of Andrew's and Tivey, boot manufacturers. and also was a rate collector for Melbourne in the 1880's he was then connected with the Weslayan Church as a local preacher. Louisa was from Derby and they married in the Sheffield village of Altercliffe. Four children followed, Mary Florence Tivey (Mrs William Perry) Sidney Elson Tivey (m. Elizabeth Hannah Houghton), Mabel Tivey (Mrs John Charles Parker), and Fred Cooper Tivey (m. Agnes Jones).
