Marriage of Sarah-Ann-Tivey-and-Harold-John-Pinfold at Derby
Marriage solemnized at The Parish Church in the Parish of St Werbergh in the County of Derby: Entry No 102 Novbr 7th 1886, Harold John Pinfold, aged 21, Bachelor, Labourer of Stableford, S/o George Pinfold, Labourer: Sarah Ann Tivey, aged 22, Spinster of 70 Stockbrook Street, D/o William Tivey. (deceased) Painter: Both signed in the presence of witnesses William Shaw and Ellen Elizabeth Pinfold after Banns:
Sarah is a bit of a mystery lady, in the 1881 census she is residing in Derby St Peter at Leopole Street a servant aged 17 to Eliza Woodward she claims that she was born in Tutbury, Staffordshire. Her age on her marriage certificate is stated as 22 which would put her birth around 1864ish and she is listed with Harold born around the same time in Stapelford Notts 1891, however, her death in 1891 states she was 33 years old which would put her born around 1858/9. But she doesnt seem to fit in with other Tivey families - she COULD be the daughter of William Tivey of Group 22 who had a daughter named Sarah born 1861 who disappears after the 1881 census but she was named Sarah JANE at birth not Sarah ANN but she was based in Derby and also born there Not Tutbury. The TUTBURY Tiveys are mostly in Group 20 but I havent been able to link her to any of those yet. Sarah died in 1891 and Harold remarried. Any further information is most welcome.
