Group 23 - This group relates to Tiveys who were living in the Poplar and Stepney districts of London in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and their families and descendants. Records before 1837 are very scanty, but it thought that there was a connection between the Tiveys in these districts at this time and they are all included in one group. The earliest record in the area is the re-marriage in 1768 of Margaret Tivey (widow) at St Dunstan's Stepney, but there is no record in the parish of her first marriage or of any children thereof.
