Isaac Tivey was born 1833 in Birmingham,
Warwickshire to parents Isaac Tivey, a Tailor by trade
(1803-1871) and Phebe Morris (1805-1874) who married in Burton Upon
on Trent 1826.
Isaac had 7 siblings, the eldest was William Tivey
(1827-1892) followed by his eldest sister Mary Ann Tivey (Mrs
Henry Vickers Mayer 1829-1911 ), next was Henry who sadly died
before he reached the age of ten, then Elizabeth Tivey (Mrs William
Daniel Wright 1836-1906) then came Francis in 1838 who had 7
children with his legal wife then fled to America with another
companion producing another 5 children, he died in Hartford
Connecticut 1899. His next to youngest brother was James Tivey
(1841-1881) followed by the youngest John Kingswood Tivey who spent
several years in Scotland, his family was well travelled which was
quite unusual for that era. Like his father before him Isaac was a
Tailor by profession, in 1855 he married his first wife Letitia Moon
in Cosely Staffs, they separatedand the marriage must have
been annulled, by 1861 they both live separately with their parents,
both listed as "married" by 1866 Letitia married again, Isaac was
residing with Elizabeth Regan (b. 1831 Birmingham) from around
1862 in Westminster, London, she is listed as Tivey in the 1871
census but they only actually married in 1879, their son Isaac James
Tivey was born in 1863 Westminster. Isaac died in Westminster
1882 aged 49 years. Thanks to Alison Tivey-Kydyk for the photograph
which was taken in the early 1860's.
