Marriage of Hannah-Tivey-and-John-Berrisford

Banns of Marriage between John Berrisford of this Parish and Hannah Tivey of this Parish were married in this Church by Banns this sixteenth Day of May in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eight by me Wm Cantrell. John signed his name, Hannah by X her mark. Witnesses John Houghton and Joseph Calladine - both signed.

Hannah Tivey was probably the daughter of Edward Tivey and Mary Fairbrother  (no Baptism survived but her son  resides with his aunt Catherine Tivey nee Dent in the census, she was the wife of Thomas Tivey b 1780)    The name is noted as other variants Beresford, Berresford etc. Hannah died in 1842  in Audley Staffordshire. They had at least one son named William
