Clarence Hereward was born 17th October 1893 in Melbourne, Derbyshire, he was the son Leonard Tivey and Elizabeth Marson, he and Elsie had one son Leonard James Tivey (1926-2015) a London School of Economics graduate who wrote many papers and published books on politics and industry.
