John Henson Hand, a joiner, born in Beeston, Notts;  married Catherine Tivey who was born in Sneinton 1858, the daughter of William Tivey and Ann Draper of Group 5, The couple had 9 children all born in Nottinghamshire. They were Laura Elizabeth Hand born 1881 (m. William H Bostock) John Louis Hand b 1884, James William Hand b 1887, Frances May Hand b 1889 (m Harry Percival Justice)  Charles Henry Hand b 1892, Grace Hand b 1895 (m. Herbert Wisbey) , Selina Travis Hand b 1897 (m. Edwin Darnell) , Ernest Edward Hand b 1899, Edna Mabel Hand b 1902 (m. Thomas Matthew S Shaw).
